After the last post that I posted about everything in the Ney house, something tragic happened. We have been noticing that every time Shelbie would bring her sparrows inside, Lizzie felt cold. We were praying for her and hoped nothing would happen to her. Later Tuesday night Shelbie brought them inside. Lizzie felt cold again, Shelbie turned on the heating pad and tried to feed them. When she fed Lizzie, she started to wheeze, threw her food back up, and flopped around. Within 5 minutes she died. Shelbie cried hard. She loved her. For the rest of the day Shelbie was down. Later that day I was putting Molly and Jackie together in Molly's cage. My brother asked if he could hold one, when I said "no" he reached for Molly on my shoulder. She got scared and flew off my shoulder, she went flying straight to the living room. She flew right into the fan, she fell down to the ground. I ran over there and picked her up. She had a broken neck and maybe more injuries. She also died within 4 minutes. It all happened so fast that I couldn't do anything. I ran up stairs crying, and showed her to Mama and Shelbie. I told Mama the whole story and could barley talk. If you talk about them to Shelbie she will still cry. We know that God is not a cruel God and we know he allowed it for a reason. We just pray that he will show us soon. We also pray that my brother doesn't feel guilty because of this. Please pray for us, for Shelbie, and for my brother. Thank you.

Ney Family Update
Well I haven't blogged for a long time, but here is a update on the Ney family......
Mollie and Lizzie
About 3 weeks ago me, Daddy, Shelbie, Shyloh, and Jeff went to aunt Lynette's and uncle Micah's house, why we were there aunt Lynette told me that she had something to show me. She brought me inside and opened a little shoe box. Inside the box was a baby sparrow. She said it had fallen out of it's nest and uncle Micah found it, put it in a box, and she wanted to give it to me. Daddy said I could take it home and surprisingly he thought it was very cute.
I told Shelbie that she could have it because I had Jackie. We found out it was a girl and Shelbie named it "Mollie".
A week latter Mama came in our room and woke us up and said that she heard a lot of noise in the front. She went outside to look and there was a little baby sparrow only 1 week younger then the other. Shelbie and I agreed to share it. It was also a girl! We named it "Lizzie".
We named her that because it was a "IE" name and also because Jackie was named after "Jack Sparrow" from Pirates of the Caribbean. And Lizzie was named after "Elizabeth Swan" from Pirates of the Caribbean (Lizzie for short). Molly was going to be ether "Willie" (Will Turner) or "Davie" (Davie Jones) if she was a boy. We think she might be a boy because her coloring was a little weird, but we are now 95% sure she is a girl.

4Th of July
4Th of July wasn't as fun as it would have been if Shyloh was here. It was fun tho. Uncle Micah, Aunt Lynette, and her brother Chad and sister-in-law Alison, and their kids came. Ethan is 9, and Ella is 7. Shelbie and I asked aunt Lynette if she wanted t go for a night swim ater fireworks. She said yes she would. We did the fireworks then had desert and went swimming. Just Me, Shelbie, and Aunt Lynette went swimming. The water was very cold and Shelbie and Aunt Lynette wanted to get out, so we did. 4Th of July was very fun. We had lots of fun. I hope your 4Th of July was fun too.

Jackie Update

Well my baby Jackie is growing up. She is now completely weend, is eating bird seed, drinking water and even watter baths. She is really cute. Her cage is huge up in our back yard. I still have a little cage in the house for her in the night, until it gets warmer outside. She hates her night time cage. She will do all she can to not sit on the perch. She will be 2 months old on July 2.

Mama and Daddy say that I need pray about releasing her. I really don't want to, I love her so much and it would break my heart to see her leave. Shelbie said that she will probably come back to me if I chose to release her, but I still don't want to take the chances.
I will just keep praying about what to do. She is very happy right now, so I pray that she will remain happy and I can keep her.
I love watching her eat her food, play in her watter (very cute!), and rub her beak and cheek on your finger.

Happy 3 week old Birhtday Jackie!
Today Jackie is 3 weeks old! She is still on baby bird formula, and is doing great. Next week she will be 4 weeks old and I will have to start weaning her. I am very sad that I will have to wean her that soon. She looks like a young adult now, but is still just a little baby. She learned how to fly last week . She could fly very high so we had to cut her wings a little. She knows her name and when I call her, she will fly to me. She will even come to me when I open her cage door. She is very sweet, and even Daddy likes her. (which is very neat because he seldom likes animals)

Jackie
As you know we are all animal lovers. If we see a dog on the road we will stop to try to catch it, if we see a cat outside we try to catch it, even if our cats catch a mouse we go out and try to get it from them.

Well let me tell you about our newest edition to the family......
Last Tuesday me and the boys were in the front yard taking out the garbage. I went around the corner to get Tiggie who had gotten out of the house. When I was rounding the corner to come back I saw 3 little wigglie things on the ground by the porch, not thinking about them I keep going. When I had almost made it to the porch Shannen yelled, "there are 3 baby birds over here"! Shayden and I went running over to where he was. And just like he said there were 3 baby sparrows there. Shannen and I picked up one and ran to the house. When Shelbie asked were the third one was we told her it was dead. She went out the to make sure it was. It was dead so we had to throw it away. The one Shannen had picked up was gasping for air. He did not have a a chance to name his because 30 minutes later it died. The one I rescued lived. It was 4 days old when we found it and it was completely bald with no feathers (sparrows are one of the fastest growing birds). It is now 12 days old and has all its feathers. It is a girl and her name is "Jackie". She can also perch on my finger and will soon learn how to fly.

The Perfect Dinner
Last night I made dinner, I made broccoli casserole (big thumbs up in our family), brown sugar- glazed carrots (sounds disgusting, but is VERY good), rolls (love it) and last, but not least, a salad (We have a salad every night with dinner). It was very pretty and very good. Every one loved it. I liked the carrots and the casserole the best.

Skittles
We haven't blogged in a long time and we are sorry, but here is a update... A couple of weeks ago was my 12th birthday, for my birthday I had really wanted permission to get a rat. I asked my Mom and Dad and said that I would buy it myself, I just wanted permission to get it. Every time I would ask my Dad would say "yeah right, NO". capital N and capital O. Every time he answered with that I would go to bed feeling very sad. Well my birthday soon came around. The day felt long and sad (especially when my birthday landed on star testing) and I was sure that I was not getting a rat. When it was time for opening gifts everyone was whispering about Mama's and Daddy's git for me. When I had opened all the other gifts Daddy brought out a rat cage. I was really excited, when I saw a little head poke out of it's house. It is a Albino rat and I named it "Skittles" because her eyes are red like little red skittles.
