Romans 10:13
Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
Out family has been counting down the days till the new Narnia came out. Last Friday was the release date, us big kids are gonna go see it soon, but for those of you who haven't seen it yet, here's a trailer.
This is a really sweet and sad video all at the same time. It's a must watch, and if you shed a couple tears or feel like you want to, your not alone:)
There's a girl in the corner With tear stains on her eyes From the places she's wandered And the shame she can't hide
She says, "How did I get here? I'm not who I once was. And I'm crippled by the fear That I've fallen too far to love"
But don't you know who you are, What's been done for you? Yeah don't you know who you are?
You are more than the choices that you've made, You are more than the sum of your past mistakes, You are more than the problems you create, You've been remade.
Well she tries to believe it That she's been given new life But she can't shake the feeling That it's not true tonight
She knows all the answers And she's rehearsed all the lines And so she'll try to do better But then she's too weak to try
But don't you know who you are?
You are more than the choices that you've made, You are more than the sum of your past mistakes, You are more than the problems you create, You've been remade.
You are more than the choices that you've made, You are more than the sum of your past mistakes, You are more than the problems you create, You've been remade.
'Cause this is not about what you've done, But what's been done for you. This is not about where you've been, But where your brokenness brings you to
This is not about what you feel, But what He felt to forgive you, And what He felt to make you loved.
You are more than the choices that you've made, You are more than the sum of your past mistakes, You are more than the problems you create, You've been remade.
You are more than the choices that you've made, You are more than the sum of your past mistakes, You are more than the problems you create, You've been remade.
You've been remade You've been remade. You've been remade. You've been remade.
Shelbie, my older sister has had it on her heart since she was about 10 to go to Liberia Africa and be a missionary and help in an orphanage. She feels like the Lord wants her to go when she turns 18. I've always teased her and talked about how she should stay home, but after I saw this video I felt like i should build her up and encourage her. If you have 10 minutes, you need to watch this. It's really touching, I got teary eyes watching this.
A couple of weeks ago Air1 was putting on a free concert in Santa Cruz, they where having Satellites and Sirens, Vota, and The Wrecking. We listen to Air1 and really like those groups, so we went to it and let me tell that concert was THE BOMB! It was amazing! I loved it! Vota was so good, I really hope they come somewhere near us again! All of them where good, but out of all of them, Vota was my favorite.
What do you think, how would this look on a little brown tea-cup Chihuahua? Oh, yeah, a little brown tea-cup Chihuahua named Lucy? Lol. I really like it and would love to have it for Lucy, but I don't think it would fit a chihuahua, let alone a tea-cup chihuahua;) Maybe I could get it for Maycie, I know Jeff likes the Giants and he might get a kick out of it. I don't know I'm gonna look into it for Lucy. Besides I think it's just a regular shirt, just on a dog. My dad has this same shirt:D
My Nana emailed this to me, I thought this was really good! hope you like it. ~Shaylah
A Little Boy's Explanation of God Out of the mouths of the Babes--
It was written by an 8-year-old named Danny Dutton, who lives in Chula Vista , CA . He wrote it for his third grade homework assignment, to 'explain God.' I wonder if any of us could have done as well? (and he had such an assignment, in California , and someone published it, I guess miracles do happen!)
EXPLANATION OF GOD:'One of God's main jobs is making people. He makes them to replace the ones that die, so there will be enough people to take care of things on earth. He doesn't make grownups, just babies. I think because they are smaller and easier to make. That way he doesn't have to take up his valuable time teaching them to talk and walk. He can just leave that to mothers and fathers.'
'God's second most important job is listening to prayers. An awful lot of this goes on, since some people, like preachers and things, pray at times beside bedtime. God doesn't have time to listen to the radio or TV because of this. Because he hears everything, there must be a terrible lot of noise in his ears, unless he has thought of a way to turn it off.'
'God sees everything and hears everything and is everywhere which keeps Him pretty busy. So you shouldn't go wasting his time by going over your mom and dad's head asking for something they said you couldn't have.'
'Atheists are people who don't believe in God. I don't think there are any in Chula Vista . At least there aren't any who come to our church.'
'Jesus is God's Son. He used to do all the hard work, like walking on water and performing miracles and trying to teach the people who didn't want to learn about God. They finally got tired of him preaching to them and they crucified him. But he was good and kind, like his father, and he told his father that they didn't know what they were doing and to forgive them and God said O.K.'
'His dad (God) appreciated everything that he had done and all his hard work on earth so he told him he didn't have to go out on the road anymore. He could stay in heaven. So he did. And now he helps his dad out by listening to prayers and seeing things which are important for God to take care of and which ones he can take care of himself without having to bother God. Like a secretary, only more important.'
'You can pray anytime you want and they are sure to help you because they got it worked out so one of them is on duty all the time.'
'You should always go to church on Sunday because it makes God happy, and if there's anybody you want to make happy, it's God!
Don't skip church to do something you think will be more fun like going to the beach. This is wrong. And besides the sun doesn't come out at the beach until noon anyway.'
'If you don't believe in God, besides being an atheist, you will be very lonely, because your parents can't go everywhere with you, like to camp, but God can. It is good to know He's around you when you're scared, in the dark or when you can't swim and you get thrown into real deep water by big kids.'
'But...you shouldn't just always think of what God can do for you. I figure God put me here and he can take me back anytime he pleases.
OK, so I love my cats, you probably remember when I posted about Mittens at the back door, that was cute. This time it about Stripes, I've had for about 5 maybe 6 years, so I was about 7 or 8 when I got him. Stripes is my Tom cat. He's an inside out side cat, he will come in we feed him, sometimes he stays a little, other times he just leaves right after we feed him. Well, the other day I was walking past the Living Room and happened to glance over at the back door and there was Stripes sleeping like a little angel...
I have been the wayward child I have acted out I have questioned Sovereignty And had my share of doubt And though sometimes my prayers feel like They're bouncing off the sky The hand I hold won't let me go And is the reason why...
[Chorus:] I will stumble I will fall down But I will not be moved I will make mistakes I will face heartache But I will not be moved On Christ the Solid Rock I stand All other ground is sinking sand I will not be moved
Bitterness has plagued my heart Many times before My life has been like broken glass And I have kept the score Of all my shattered dreams and though it seemed That I was far too gone My brokenness helped me to see It's grace I'm standing on
[Chorus]
And the chaos in my life Has been a badge I've worn Though I have been torn I will not be moved
There where three men; a blond, brunette, and a red head. They had recently got in trouble with the law, and were about to get shot to death by the firing squad. They where standing in front of a fence with the firing squad in front of them with guns ready. Well, the red head came up with an idea; he pointed behind the squad and said, "Tornado!". When they turned to look, he jumped the fence and ran. The brunette realizing what he did, came up with an idea also. He pointed behind the squad and said, "Earthquake!". When they turned and looked he also jumped the fence and ran. Now, the blond seeing what the others did, came up with an idea also. He pointed behind them and said, "Fire!".
Two months is too little, they let him go They had no sudden healing To think that providence Would take a child from his mother While she prays, is appalling
Who told us we?d be rescued What has changed and Why should we be saved from nightmares We're asking why this happens to us
Who have died to live, it?s unfair This is what it means to be held How it feels when the sacred is torn from your life And you survive
This is what it is to be loved and to know That the promise was that when everything fell We?d be held
This hand is bitterness We want to taste it and Let the hatred numb our sorrows The wise hand opens slowly To lilies of the valley and tomorrow
This is what it means to be held How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life And you survive
This is what it is to be loved and to know That the promise was that when everything fell We'd be held
If hope if born of suffering If this is only the beginning Can we not wait for one hour Watching for our Savior
This is what it means to be held How it feels, when the sacred is torn from your life And you survive
This is what it is to be loved and to know That the promise was that when everything fell We'd be held
A couple weeks ago Mickie past away. We don't know how, one night she just up and died. It was very weird. She hurt her leg a couple of days before she died, and the day she died, she had gotten sick that morning. That night she died in my hands. About a week and half later Mama and Daddy surprised me with another one. I named her Maggie. She is black and white with a personality a lot like Mickie's. Although she is not Mickie I lover her just the same. I would post pictures of her, but she is too wiggly and won't sit still. Sorry!

I search for love When the night came and it closed in I was alone but you found me where I was hiding and now I'll never ever be the same It was the sweetest voice that called my name saying
You're not alone for I am here let me wipe away your every fear My love I've never left your side I have seen you through the darkest night and I'm the one who's loved you all your life All of your life
You cry yourself to sleep cause the hurt is real and the pain cuts deep All hope seems lost With heartache your closest friend and everyone else long gone
You've had to face the music on your own but there is a sweeter song that calls you home saying
You're not alone for I am here let me wipe away your every tear My love I've never left your side I have seen you through the darkest nights And I'm the one who's loved you all your life All your life
Faithful and true... Forever For my love will carry you....
You're not alone for I... I am here let me wipe away every fear... Oh yeah My love I've never left your side I have seen you through your darkest night Your darkest night And I'm the one who's loved you all your life All of your life
I decided to start blogging about snakes and lizards instead of just snakes. So I'm going to blog about Leopard Geckos today. Leopard geckos are lizards that live in dry places. They eat insects, crickets, meal worms, worms and super worms. If you want a really happy lizard feed them 3 wax worms day. They live under the ground and on the ground. The leopard gecko has a triangle head and a fat tail where it stores fat. The skin is bumpy and heavily patterned. The patterns are to camouflage the lizard from predators.
If you want to own a leopard gecko you would need a 10 gallon tank with sand in it. Then you need a big rock or tunnel. After that you need a water dish that he can climb in and drink. Then you need some food.I use crickets but you can use meal worms too.Once in a while you can put him in a tub with about 1 inch of water and let him soak in it.They come out at night mostly. You have to hold them a lot or they wont be tame. They make great pets.
I have a leopard gecko and he sleeps all day long. I named him Giecko. I held him a lot so he is tame to me.He is so calm. That's all for today.
If there is a certain snake or lizard you want to learn about tell me. (wrote in the colors of a leopard gecko)
FUN FACTS!
◦Geckos are reptiles that live in Asia in the wild. They live in rocky deserts and sparse grasslands.
◦They are nocturnal in the wild, hiding from fierce daytime heat in burrows and under rocks. In captivity they will burrow when overheated and shy away sometimes from bright lights.
◦They usually grow to about 10 inches long, although half of this is tail.
◦They can break their tails off like most other lizards. This is usually caused by poor handling or by fighting with other geckos. The tails will grow back, but they will be shorter, thicker, smoother and less colorful.
◦Geckos store fat and metabolic water in their tails.
◦The temperature of their eggs determines the gender of the hatchlings. At 80 degrees, most will be females; at 91 degrees most will be males. At 86 degrees Fahrenheit, there will be an even mix.
◦They will clean their eyes with their tongues!
◦They also have moveable eyelids, allowing them to blink and close their eyes during sleep.
◦They are carnivorous and will stalk prey like a cat.
I am SO excited to be able to announce, that I am going to be a auntie and big sister to another little bundle of joy all in 1 week, at the age of 14! Yes, you read right, Mama and Shyloh are both pregnant and due within 4 days of each other! Shyloh is due on April 26 (Shaydens birthday), and Mama is due on April 30, 2011! We are all very excited about this! Shelbie and I have been talking about what we want Shyloh's baby to call us. Shelbie decided on "Auntie Bee" for her, because all the kids called her "Bee" before they could pronounce Shelbie;) She said my name should be "Auntie Laylah", because all the kids called me "Laylah" before they could pronounce Shaylah. Of course, if I did go with that, when they got older they would call me "Auntie Shaylah". We are all happy and very excited about this and hope and pray everything goes well! Please all who read this pray for Shyloh and Mama to have a good pregnancy! Thank~you!
~Shaylah
P.S. I have had this in my drafts and just got around to posting it. Sorry!
Well, it has been a month and a few weeks since Skittles died and Mama had told me that whenever I was ready for another one she would buy me one. A couple of weeks ago we went down and I picked one out, I named her Missie. And then as a surprise Aunt Dee Dee, Uncle Mike, Tarryn, and Lynna Baker (my uncle, aunts and cousins) bought me another one. I named her Minnie.
After about a week of having Missie, she got sick and after a couple of days she died:( Mama brought me in and we where able to trade her in for another one. Again the same thing happened. That one also got sick and died. To my surprise the Bakers bought me another one! This time we named her Mickie instead of Missie. These two are the funnest little rats ever (besides skittles)! I love these two SO SO SO much!!! Thank you Bakers for buying them for me!!!
So with out further ado I introduce.... Mickie and Minnie, and yes Mickie is a girl ;D
I got a hold of the camera this morning and took some pictures. Afterwords, when I was looking at the pictures I thought they were really pretty. Yeah, I know really random, but they are pretty pictures!
~Shaylah
I think this one is neat looking.
These flowers are pretty!
I thought this was a pretty picture with my bible and the light.
This is my absolute favorite picture out of all of them! The flower on it.
We have a Peach tree in our back yard, and every year we get lots and lots of wonderful fruit off it. Well, I am so excited to say that 2 weeks ago I got the honors of picking the very first Peach of the Year! YAY!!! Yeah, I know, not that exciting to other people, but to our famiy it was GREAT! I snapped some pictures of it, it was big and pretty!
I am a HUGE fan of Jeremy Camp and this is one of my favorite songs he sings. It's called "Speaking Louder Than Before", off his "Speaking Louder Than Before" CD;) I really love what this whole songs says, it is really good!

SPEAKING LOUDER THAN BEFORE
Hear now this declaration From out across the nations We need to wake up and understand
Many hurting hearts are crying But our voices seem to be dying Can you see the battle raging on?
We are the light to reach this world We are the salt preserving these souls Let's show them the love that we've received now
We are, we are in desperation We need to reach this generation We are speaking louder than before
We are the hope that's been forgotten We have a love that will be brought and We are speaking louder than before
Take every chance that you can Move together taking a stand Never losing heart, we'll speak as one
We need to be the image of Christ Show love and serve at all times We can make a difference in these lands
We are the light to reach this world We are the salt preserving these souls Let's show them the love that we've received now
We are, we are in desperation We need to reach this generation We are speaking louder than before
We are the hope that's been forgotten We have the love that will be brought and We are speaking louder than before
Everything's so surreal But this urgency I feel We should be reaching out to all these desperate pleas
Oh, the need is real can't you feel This call to revolution My beating heart is breaking for them That's why I'm speaking now That's why I'm speaking now
We are, we are in desperation We need to reach this generation We are speaking louder than before
We are the hope that's been forgotten We have a love that will be brought and We are speaking louder than before
We are, we are, we're speaking louder We are, we are, we're speaking louder We are speaking louder than before We are speaking louder than before Oh, yeah
About a month ago I was reading the news paper and saw that Natalie Grant was going to be at the county fair, well being the kind of girl who loves music and loves going to concerts I talked Daddy into bringing me to go see her. I saw her last November with Jeremy Camp and Bebo Norman and enjoyed her so I thought it would be fun to go see her again. So with persuading and a little talking he said he would take me and whoever else wants to go. Well about a weed after that I was reading what day and time she would be there, and found out Tenth Avenue North was going to be with her. I had never seen them in concert, but I have heard their songs on the radio and like them a lot. I told Daddy and he was pretty excited and thought it sounded like fun. They have some songs out that I really like, such as "Healing Begins", "By Your Side", "Hold My Heart" and "House of Mirrors".
Daddy, Shelbie, Shayden, Shannen, and I went. We waited like an hour for it to start, but it was worth it. We REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, liked Tenth Avenue North. Natalie Grant was really good also, but Tenth Avenue North was just AWESOME! The message that they had to say was just great. They were really humble and funny at the same time. Almost everything they said reflected God somehow. It was really cool.
Sorry Natalie Grant, but Tenth Avenue North has passed you up in my favorites. It now goes...
(1) Jeremy Camp, (2) Tenth Avenue North, (3) Natalie Grant, and last, but not least (4) Toby Mac. The concert was a lot of fun and it was worth the whole 9 dollars;)
~Shaylah
<<<~~~~~~ Natalie Grants second CD, "Relented", and if you are intrested her first one is called, "Awaken".
Tenth Avenue North's first cd, "Over and Underneath". The second one is called, "The Light Meets The Dark". ~~~~~~>>>
This year has not been a very good pet year for our family. Our sparrows, Cater and Lily died (a week apart from each other), then that weekend our black lab Meko, that we had for almost 11 years had to be put to sleep, and then worse of all my dear, sweet, Skittles had to be put to sleep. I had decided to go natural route with her and her tumor, but it didn't work. Her tumor just kept getting worse and worse, bigger and bigger. It got so bad that she started to squeak ever time I would pick her up. Daddy told me that it could pop if I didn't make a decision. So I prayed and made a decision. The next day Mama brought me down to get her put to sleep. We asked about getting it removed, but the lady helping us said that her daughter had done that with hers and it came back after 6 months with a vengeance. Plus it cost a couple hundred dollars. Good-bye my dear, sweet, Skittles! I love you lots.
After we had to put Skittles to sleep a made a video in memory of her. It took me a while to gather the pictures and put it to music, but I did it.
The Life Of Skittles
Unfortunately I didn't have much pictures of her without a tumor, but I thought the ones that I had good enough.
Every year in early summer we find baby sparrows in our front yard that have fallen out of their nest. Being animal lovers and not wanting them to die we take them in and nourish them back to health and raise them.
You probably remember Jackie (a girl version of Jack Sparrow) from last year and Hope, Faith, Lizzie (Elizabeth Swann) , Molly, Willie (Will Turner), and a boy Jack Sparrow, and lots more, but I don’t think I blog on all of them last year, only some of them. Only some of them lived.
Well the summer had officially started for Shelbie and I 2 weeks ago when we found 3 baby sparrows in our front yard. Usually when we find them most of them don’t make it. The fall for them is about 9-10 feet to the ground and most of them hit the cement. Well we found 3 and 1 of them was 4 days old and the others were 1 day old. The biggest hit cement and and so did one of the littlest. But the other fell in a flower pot.
We weren't sure if the littlest that hit the cement would make it because she had trouble eating her food and breathing. The next day died in her sleep. But the other two have been great. We have had them for 1 1/2 weeks now and have been able to watch as they grow and open there eyes and even learn to perch.
The big one is Shelbie’s which she has named “LilyBell” and the smaller one is mine which I have named “Carter Bella” a.k.a “Carter”. Lillybell opened her eyes a couple of days after we found her and Carter opened her eyes a 3 days ago. Lillybell can now perch and Carter is on her way to learning how.
We took some pictures of them when we first got them and we took some pictures of how they looked now. And I will continue to post about them every week and how they are growing.
~Shaylah
The bigger one is Lillybell at 4 days and the smaller is Carter Bella at 1 day old.
This is Lillybell at 4 days and Carter is even smaller!
Getting their feathers!
Here they are at 2 weeks (Lillybell) and 1 1/2 weeks old (Carter).
On June 1 Shayden and I did a HOT SAUCE DARE FOR SEVEN DOLLARS. Shayden ate a hot sauce covered chip. And I had to pay him seven dollars. First we bargained a little. Here it goes.
(Shayden)= Seven dollars, (Shannen)=Three dollars, (Shayden) =Three fifty, (Shannen)=Two fifty, (Shayden) =Five fifty, (Shannen)=Five dollars, (Shayden)=Six dollars, (Shannen)=Five fifty, (Shayden)=Six fifty, (Shannen)=Four fifty, (Shayden)=Seven dollars final offer, (Shannen)=Seven dollars deal. And then Shayden ate it. And I payed him seven dollars.
OK, this might sound REALLY disgusting and it was, but it was really funny. I'm like a tom girl, somebody dares me to do something, I do it (to a point). The other day me and Shannen where in the kitchen and he was cutting up a orange. Playing with him I reached over and grabbed a piece, quick as a flash he knocked it out of my hand. But he didn't catch it ether, it fell into a bowl of tomato sauce sitting on the counter. Yuck! So I grabbed it out and was headed to the sink to wash it off when this interesting dare came up....
(Shannen)- Wait! (Me)- What? (Shannen)- I dare you to eat that! (Me)- How much money would I get? (Shannen)- $5.00 (Me)- Really?!? (Shannen)- NO, not really!!! (Me)- Then how much? (Shannen)- $1.00 (Me)- Yeah right, if you think you can get me to eat a tomato sauce covered orange for only $1.00 then you don't know me! (Shannen)- Fine, $1.15 (Me)- $4.89 (Shannen)- $1.30 (Me)- $4. 50 (Shannen)-$1.50 (Me)- $4.30 (Shannen)- $2.00 (Me)- $4.15 (Shannen)- $2.15 (Me)- $4.00 (Shannen)- $2.30 (Me)-$3.75 (Shannen)- $2.50 (Me)- $3.50 (Shannen)- $2.75 (Me)- $3.40 (Shannen)- $3.00 (Me)- $3.30 (Shannen)- $3.15 (Me)- You have a deal!
So if you can guess where this is headed then your right, I ate it. And it wasn't bad tasting, but wasn't good tasting ether. The thought of it was really gross, but I got $3.15 out f it and that was a plus!
On April the 16th Shayden and I sleep at Jeff's house. (Because Shyloh slept at our house because she was on bed rest). While we were at Jeff's house we played cards watched movies and played video games. That night Shayden stayed up until 3:00am and I stayed up until all night. That morning we went to the store and got pancake mix and eggs so I could make breakfast. (With coffee ) After we ate breakfast we made some tea and went out to do some yard work. We mowed, weeded and cleaned. And then went back in side and cleaned the kitchen washed dishes and watched Sponge Bob. After that we went to the park and played football. Then we went back home and rode Jeff's motor scooter (you have to say "motor" scooter or he'll correct you if you say electric scooter. ha ha) We had a BLAST!
This blog was previously shared by Shayden, and Shannen and is now being passed on to Shadd and Poppet. Thank you for visiting! We are excited to share with you!
