Every year in early summer we find baby sparrows in our front yard that have fallen out of their nest. Being animal lovers and not wanting them to die we take them in and nourish them back to health and raise them.
You probably remember Jackie (a girl version of Jack Sparrow) from last year and Hope, Faith, Lizzie (Elizabeth Swann) , Molly, Willie (Will Turner), and a boy Jack Sparrow, and lots more, but I don’t think I blog on all of them last year, only some of them. Only some of them lived.
Well the summer had officially started for Shelbie and I 2 weeks ago when we found 3 baby sparrows in our front yard. Usually when we find them most of them don’t make it. The fall for them is about 9-10 feet to the ground and most of them hit the cement. Well we found 3 and 1 of them was 4 days old and the others were 1 day old. The biggest hit cement and and so did one of the littlest. But the other fell in a flower pot.
We weren't sure if the littlest that hit the cement would make it because she had trouble eating her food and breathing. The next day died in her sleep. But the other two have been great. We have had them for 1 1/2 weeks now and have been able to watch as they grow and open there eyes and even learn to perch.
The big one is Shelbie’s which she has named “LilyBell” and the smaller one is mine which I have named “Carter Bella” a.k.a “Carter”. Lillybell opened her eyes a couple of days after we found her and Carter opened her eyes a 3 days ago. Lillybell can now perch and Carter is on her way to learning how.
We took some pictures of them when we first got them and we took some pictures of how they looked now. And I will continue to post about them every week and how they are growing.
