R.I.P. Hope
About a week ago we noticed that Shelbie little birdie 'Hope' had something wrong with it's beak. It was all puffy and reddish-blackish color. We put some peroxide on it and prayed that she would get better in time to release them on Saturday. The next day Shelbie and I had been noticing that we hadn't seen Hope that morning, when I went out to feed and water them. When I went out, I started to look for her, I found her in her little nesting box still sleeping. I imediately realized that she wasn't sleeping I was very sad and didn't want to tell Shelbie, but I had too. I told Shelbie and she ran out there to make sure. She was very sad and we all just prayed that when she had passed away she just fall asleep and and didn't feel a thing. Shelbie is still very sad that Hope wasn't alive to be released with all the others, but she knows that she is with Jesus now.
Freedom at last!
On Friday Shelbie and I made the decision to release the birdies the next day. We were very sad and knew that we were going miss them. We brought them inside and held them for awhile. Shiloh our most untamed one got out of Shelbie's hand and started to fly around the house. We all tried to catch her. Poppet was walking out side just at that moment, Shiloh flew straight outside and into our tree. Shelbie was sad, but she said all along she knew that Shiloh would be the first to go. We put Faith and Jackie back in the cage and opened the door. They didn't leave for about 3 hours after that. Faith ended up leaving second. About a hour after that Jackie left too.
They haven't came back yet, but we know that they are happy.
